Job summary

Merlin Labs in the United States is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to lead a small team and own system architecture, requirements, and verification for autonomous flight platforms. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with safety, hardware, and software teams, and interactions with customers and regulatory bodies to ensure safety-critical compliance.

We welcome remote applicants with a preference for those able to relocate to our Boston HQ for hybrid work.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical/Aerospace/Systems Engineering; MS preferred.
  • 6–9 years in systems engineering (4–6 yrs with MS; 2–4 yrs with PhD).
  • Experience in Flight Control Systems with ML or Autonomy.
  • Experience with requirements management tools and processes.
  • Ability to develop system-level requirements, architecture and interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of System Engineers and ensure delivery of work products.
  • Develop system engineering plans and processes for technical execution.
  • Manage system-level verification and validation activities.
  • Lead reviews with customers, suppliers, and regulators.
  • Collaborate with safety, hardware, and software teams to capture interfaces.
