Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is seeking a Principal System Debug Engineer to lead system-level debugging for next-generation microprocessors. You will bridge internal silicon/software teams and top OEMs/ODMs, guiding complex bring-up activities and debugging across CPU silicon, firmware, drivers, and OS interactions.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration with Silicon Design, Firmware, OS/Kernel, and Validation teams, while architecting advanced debug methodologies and tools to accelerate

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of modern CPU architectures and system-level debug.
• Experience with CPU silicon, platform hardware, firmware, drivers and OS interactions in customer environments.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership in complexBring-Up scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Lead triage, investigation, and root-cause analysis of complex system-level issues.
• Drive early platform bring-up activities for next-generation CPUs at internal labs and at customer facilities.
• Serve as primary technical liaison for strategic customers and guide engineering teams through platform design and debugging.
• Collaborate with Silicon Design, Architecture, Firmware, OS/Kernel, and Validation teams to drive systemic fixes.
• Architect and develop advanced debug methodologies, scripts, and tools to accelerate issue isolation.
• Act as technical task force leader during critical customer escalations with clear executive updates.
