Job summary

Network Building + Consulting in Maryland seeks a Senior Project Surveyor to lead the Survey and ROW Department, overseeing office and field surveys, GIS basemapping, and related research across telecom, utilities, EV infrastructure, and land development projects.

The role requires a PLS license and 10+ years of experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and AGOL. Strong leadership and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying/Geomatics preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible land surveying experience.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
• Ability to obtain reciprocal licensure in additional states.
• Experience supervising survey field crews and coordinating operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the company’s Survey and ROW Department.
• Oversee field crews, scheduling, and QA/QC for surveys and ROW.
• Develop and maintain standards, workflows, and basemap production.
• Lead due diligence research including deeds, plats, and title records.
• Oversee AGOL GIS databases and survey data management.
• Mentor staff and support recruiting, staffing, and workload forecasting.
• Coordinate survey activities with engineering, permitting, and utilities.
• Provide technical oversight of GNSS, robotic total stations, UAV, LiDAR, and mobile mapping.
