Actalent is seeking a Chief Surveyor to lead a field survey crew on projects in Butler, NJ. You will perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, and construction layout surveys, and supervise field crews in a hands-on role.

The position requires operating GPS, total stations, data collectors, and robotic instruments, collecting data accurately, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring safety and quality standards on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a field survey crew on assigned projects.
• Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, and construction layout surveys.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment including GPS, total stations, data collectors, and robotic instruments.
• Collect, verify, and document field data accurately.
• Coordinate daily activities, schedules, and site logistics for survey operations.
• Ensure all survey work is completed in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
• Review field notes and survey data for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate with Project Managers, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding project progress.
• Maintain survey vehicles, equipment, and supplies.
• Enforce company safety procedures and participate in jobsite safety meetings.
