Job summary

Huitt-Zollars, Inc. seeks a Survey Party Chief for our El Paso, TX office. You will lead survey field teams, perform complex land surveys, and ensure data quality for boundary and topographic projects.

Must have 5+ years in land surveying and proficiency with Trimble equipment. This role requires independence, teamwork, and strong communication skills, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years land surveying experience.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Working knowledge of surveying.
• Highly motivated.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS equipment, TSC3 or above data collectors, digital levels, and other related equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the profession.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs surveying assignments, making exact measurements, and providing data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation and dimension of land or land features.
• Operates and maintains all instruments and measuring devices including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors.
• Knowledge of Trimble field equipment and data collector software.
• Download and upload survey data to data collectors and office computers.
• Mentor and train other staff.
• Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• May assist in preparation of survey drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
