Job summary

Huitt-Zollars in El Paso, TX is seeking a Survey Manager/RPLS to lead the local survey department, manage staff, projects, and budgets, and collaborate with other offices. The role requires Texas RPLS and a strong background in surveying leadership and business development.

Responsibilities include client liaison, project scope and budget preparation, and ensuring quality, schedules, and profitability. This full-time position emphasizes growth of the surveying team and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor license required.
• Minimum 10 years of professional land surveying experience.
• At least 5 years managing survey projects and staff.
• Office production experience in boundary, topographic and construction surveying.
• Business development experience.
• Knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or Trimble Access is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage several survey projects simultaneously with scheduling and budgets.
• Prepare scope of services and detailed project budgets for multiple projects.
• Ensure technical quality, scheduling, and profitability of projects.
• Act as primary client contact and build relationships with clients.
• Negotiate scope and fees and oversee billing/collections.
• Conduct marketing of surveying and engineering services to obtain projects.
• Prepare proposals, plats, right of way maps and ALTA sheets.
• Ensure QA/QC review is complete.
• Manage survey staff and mentor them to develop professionally.
