Job description

Join our partner firm at Kuo & Associates (KUO) as a Lead Survey Party Chief, where you'll play a key role in conducting survey fieldwork, including establishing horizontal and vertical control, topographic surveying, property boundary surveys, and construction staking.

Responsibilities

1. Operate survey equipment efficiently, including total stations, levels, GPS devices, 3D scanners, and data collectors, ensuring accurate data collection and review.
2. Work independently as a solo crew chief and as part of a team to ensure accurate survey operations.
3. Conduct various surveying tasks such as ALTA/boundary, control, topography, and construction surveys.
4. Travel occasionally for work, including overnight stays.
5. Engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain professional relationships.
6. Follow all safety policies and procedures, prioritizing safety.
7. Interpret deeds and construction plans to support surveying and project execution.
8. Maintain organized records in compliance with guidelines.
9. Support project managers with ancillary duties related to field operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years in surveying, with at least 2 years as a crew chief preferred.
• Skilled in GPS and robotic total stations; experience with LiDAR and Trimble is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; LSIT certification is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team.
