Job summary

Civil Science, Inc. seeks an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations across eastern and southern Idaho. Based in Twin Falls or Idaho Falls, you will manage one- to two-person crews, perform staking and surveys, and utilize Trimble technology to deliver accurate data for infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients, mentoring junior staff and driving continuous improvement. Travel throughout southeast Idaho is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional survey field experience.
• Experience leading survey crews or independently managing field survey operations.
• Proficiency with: Trimble GPS equipment, Robotic Total Stations, Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong experience with: Construction staking/layout, Boundary surveying, Topographic surveys.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and travel as projects require.

Responsibilities

• Lead field survey crews on transportation, infrastructure, and public works projects throughout Idaho.
• Perform construction staking, boundary, topographic, and design surveys using Trimble GPS, robotic total stations, and other advanced survey equipment.
• Collect, process, and verify accurate survey data while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to support successful project delivery.
• Mentor junior survey staff and contribute to continuous improvement of survey operations.
