Job summary

UPMC Passavant is hiring a Full-Time Lead Surgical Technologist to support the Operating Room at the McCandless location. You will supervise daily shift operations, teach staff, and ensure proper use of supplies for patient safety in a fast-paced OR environment.

With a minimum of 4 years in the OR and CST/TSC certification, you will coordinate instrument handling, assist in case scheduling, and drive aseptic technique while collaborating with Sterile Processing and nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal surgical technician program.
• Minimum 4 years or more of Operating Room experience.
• Advanced knowledge of at least 3 surgical specialties.
• CST or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day supervision of surgical technicians and lead daily shifts.
• Teach skills and theory to new employees and students.
• Assist in supervising supplies and equipment for patient care and safety.
• Ensure medications are labeled and handed to surgeon per policy.
