Qualifications

• Has completed an accredited educational program for surgical technologist.
• Holds and maintains certification by NBSTSA or NCCT or equivalent.
• Alternative certification by U.S. military or Public Health Service approved programs.
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification from AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgical team during routine and complex procedures in scrub role.
• Sets up and prepares rooms with instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment; maintains aseptic technique.
• Provides guidance to less experienced staff and answers questions in clinical situations.
• Communicates patient data accurately to team and management for safe care.
• Participates in multidisciplinary planning with other team members.
