Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth is seeking a Lead Certified Surgical Technologist to support the OR team in Plymouth, MA. You will coordinate and maintain all operating room equipment, train staff on proper usage, and collaborate with surgeons, central sterile, and vendors to ensure smooth cases.

Responsibilities include onboarding new staff, establishing instrument set protocols, and assisting with inventory management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Surgical Technologist training program or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Minimum three (3) years related OR experience required.
• Must be proficient in using OR computer systems and/or personal computer applications in carrying out own position responsibilities.
• Associates degree or higher preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical products, instruments and equipment required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the OR staff through planning, coordinating, maintaining, and controlling all operating room equipment, materials and instruments.
• Provide training to OR staff on proper use of equipment and instruments.
• Work with surgeon office staff, OR staff, Central Sterile staff and outside vendors to coordinate OR equipment.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs to equipment as needed.
• Onboard new staff and students and coordinate orientation rotations.
• Establish instrument set protocols and manage instrument set utilization and revisions.
• Collaborate with service leaders to evaluate inventory, reduce costs, and trial new equipment.
• Act as liaison between Central Sterile and OR staff and train staff on protocols.
