Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Plymouth, MA, seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist to provide technical support for operating room equipment, coordinate inventories, and train OR staff. You will work closely with surgeons, Central Sterile, and outside vendors to ensure safe, efficient case preparation and instrument handling.

Candidates should have an approved Surgical Technologist program and at least three years of OR experience, with proficiency in OR computer systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Surgical Technologist training program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years related OR experience.
• Proficient with OR computer systems and/or PC applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to OR Staff by planning, coordinating, maintaining, and controlling all operating room equipment, materials and instruments.
• Train OR staff on proper equipment use.
• Collaborate with surgeon offices, OR staff, Central Sterile staff and vendors on equipment coordination.
• Maintain and repair equipment and instrument sets as needed.
• Serve as Surgical Technologist when required and supervise peers occasionally.
• Onboard and orient new staff and students with educator support.
• Develop and maintain inventory parity and review stock usage with managers.
• Assist with instrument set protocols and optimization of utilization.
• Create equipment reference manuals and conduct in-service training for staff.
