Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Sr Surgical Technologist to support operating room functions with independent judgment and mentoring duties. The role includes supervising other technologists, training staff, and ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures in collaboration with licensed personnel.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, accredited surgical technology training, and two years of experience, plus BLS and CST/TS-C/CSA certification or grandfather provisions.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have completed an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training equivalency.
• Two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Current BLS certification and active CST/TS-C/CSA certification or grandfather clause.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide other Surgical Technologists and orient new staff.
• Perform and support OR procedures with safe, efficient postoperative care.
• Maintain acceptance of non-nursing functions and department upkeep.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication with physicians and nurses.
• Maintain sterile technique and instrument decontamination standards.
• Provide clinical resources in one or more surgical service lines.
