Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Supply Planning Manager to oversee mid- to long-term supply plans, aligning with manufacturing and working capital needs. You will lead a team of supply planners, manage master scheduling, finished goods, and inventory across the distribution network.

You will drive key metrics, optimize processes using data-driven insights, and collaborate with business partners to address capacity constraints and ensure production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required.
• Experience handling highly complex networks within supply planning, inventory control, logistics management and/or manufacturing production, required.
• Experience with Advance Planning Systems (Logility/JDA/APO/etc.) is required.
• Strong communications skills (oral and written) with ability to communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Project management and process improvement mindset/experiences.
• Hands-on experience with modeling, analysis & simulation tools.
• Ability to multitask and deal with ambiguity.
• Strong organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to balance resources to meet objectives and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supply Planning and Inventory Management: ensure master scheduling, product replenishment, and inventory metrics are met, optimize inventory at DCs and plants.
• Performance and Capacity Optimization: achieve 98.5% order fill rate, reduce distress and manage capacity models.
• Collaboration and Issue Resolution: work with cross-functional teams to manage constraints and resolve finished goods issues.
• Leadership: drive a positive employee experience through development and coaching.
