Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. in Tar Heel, NC is seeking a Plant Scheduling Manager to drive production scheduling, material flow, and inventory control for peak plant performance.

As a leader, you will oversee procurement, supplier relationships, and logistics, coordinating with Shipping to ensure timely deliveries and cost savings. Strong SAP/ERP skills and a proven leadership track record are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, purchasing, materials management, or related field; 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of demonstrated leadership or project leadership experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work across teams and departments.
• Broad knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier relationship management; proficiency in SAP & ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & supervision of Purchasing, Scheduling, and Shipping teams; hire, train, and manage performance.
• Procurement & supplier management to ensure seamless material flow and cost savings.
• Lead process improvement projects to simplify processes and boost operational efficiency.
• Production scheduling and inventory control to maintain continuous plant operations.
• Coordinate logistics with Shipping to align orders, materials and finished goods for timely delivery.
