Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) seeks a SUE Field Supervisor to designate utilities using geophysical methods and vacuum excavation. You will lead 2D/3D QL-B mapping teams, collect data, and coordinate with clients in the field.

Requirements include high school diploma, travel ability, ASCE 38 knowledge, and prior lead experience on QL-A/QL-B projects. Safety certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 4-5 years of SUE field experience preferred.
• Experience leading SUE QL-A & QL-B field crews required.
• Project level field supervisor on SUE QL-A & QL-B projects preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Designating all types of utilities in rural and urban environments using geophysical equipment, project field documentation and survey, and vacuum excavation to expose utilities.
• Obtains and maintains all required safety certifications.
• Manage individual 2D QL-B (2DB) & 3D QL-B (3DB) mapping projects, typically comprised of no more than two independent crews/teams.
• Selects non-standard surface-geophysical equipment to designate complex underground utilities for 2DB & 3DB mapping projects.
• Collects data for and completes vault diagram forms for 3DB mapping projects.
• Acts as lead on crews employing vacuum excavators and associated equipment to excavate test holes.
