Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC in Texas is seeking a Substation Technician- A to support the construction, maintenance and repair of 525 kV and below substation equipment and systems. The role involves travel to various locations and may require working in confined spaces and at elevated heights up to 125 feet.

The technician will perform safe construction and troubleshooting, lead crew members, and work with high and low voltage equipment.

Qualifications

Must possess a Commercial Drivers' License.
Must supply own personal hand tools required by the company for this work.
Must supply own safety toed work boots.
Must be capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet above ground.
Must be capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
Must be capable of working in confined spaces/areas.
Must be able to work independently or with others.
Willing to work over-time during emergencies and on short notice.
Willing to travel 90% as required by job assignments.

Responsibilities

Works safely while performing construction, maintenance or repair, testing, adjusting and troubleshooting of substation equipment/systems.
Lead/coach crew on the job and maintain company vehicles, test equipment and tools.
Interpret substation drawings and communicate with customers and subordinates.
Develop and interpret material lists and establish foundations and cable layouts.
Work in confined spaces and at heights, including elevated work areas.
