Job summary

Stantec is seeking Intermediate and Senior Civil/Structural Engineers to support our Substation Physical Electrical Teams. This role focuses on leading design efforts for foundations, equipment supports, and enclosures in power delivery projects, with QA/QC responsibilities and strong client interaction.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil/Structural Engineering degree and PE license preferred, with experience coordinating across U.S. and international offices.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead a team of engineers on substation design with interdisciplinary coordination.
• Experience with site visits to capture technical data for estimates and execution of substation expansions.
• Proficient in producing general arrangement drawings, foundation plans, steel elevations, structural details, and BOMs.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and demonstrate solid technical ability.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and build internal/external relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering efforts for design of foundations, equipment support, rigid bus and enclosures in power delivery projects.
• Perform QA/QC of structural design packages.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Discipline Leads to meet timelines for deliverables.
• Determine resource allocation and track project man-hours.
• Review and approve design drawings and calculations for substation packages to meet codes and client expectations.
• Produce complete station drawings with P&C team.
• Attend client interactions and project status meetings.
• Contribute to project planning meetings and proposal development.
• Coordinate resources from offices across the US and internationally.
