Job summary

Stantec seeks intermediate and senior Civil/Structural Engineers to support Substation Physical Electrical Teams in the United States. You will develop and lead substation design efforts, coordinate with Physical Electrical teams, and lead project engineering from 13kV to 500kV levels.

The role requires experience with AIS/GIS substations, substation components, single line diagrams, and design codes such as IEEE. Travel and cross-office collaboration are expected to support project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 8–10 years in power delivery.
• Registered PE preferred; NCEES Record desired.
• Experience with substation design and field data collection.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering efforts for foundations, equipment support, rigid bus and enclosures.
• Perform QA/QC of structural engineering design packages.
• Work with Project Managers to meet timelines for engineering deliverables.
• Determine allocation of resources and track project man-hours.
• Review and approve design drawings and calculations for substation packages for codes and standards.
• Coordinate station drawings with P&C team.
• Attend client interactions and project status meetings.
• Participate in project planning meetings and proposal development.
• Coordinate engineering resources from offices across the US and internationally.
