Job summary

Stantec is seeking Intermediate and Senior Civil/Structural Engineers to support our Substation Physical Electrical Teams. You will lead substation design efforts, coordinate with Physical Electrical teams, and guide projects from 13kV to 500kV levels.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, problem solving, and team leadership skills, with experience in AIS/GIS substations and IEEE/MOP codes. Travel and remote collaboration with US and international offices are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field; 8–10 years in power delivery.
• Registered PE preferred; NCEES Record desired.
• Experience with substation design and project engineering from 13kV to 500kV levels.
• Field with site visits and data collection for estimates and execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering for foundations, equipment support, rigid bus and enclosures.
• Perform QA/QC of structural design packages.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Discipline Leads to meet timelines.
• Allocate resources and track man hours on project.
• Review and approve design drawings and calculations for codes and standards compliance.
• Collaborate with P&C team to produce complete station drawings.
• Attend client interactions and project status meetings.
• Participate in project planning meetings and proposal development.
• Coordinate engineering resources across US and international offices.
