Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Staff Substation Structural Engineer to lead structural design and analysis for substation projects. You will collect data, perform calculations, and develop equipment/material recommendations while ensuring budget and schedule adherence.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, an active PE license, and at least 5 years of related experience. Hybrid/flexible work options are offered after onboarding; relocation is eligible.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering required and professional licensure.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, etc.).
Experience with design of utility-scale substations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead structural design engineering and analysis on substation scopes.
Collect and assimilate data for engineering work; perform calculations.
Develop recommendations for equipment and materials within budget and schedule.
Guide engineering team members and maintain positive client relations; may assist business development.
Serve as technical specialist or lead; apply advanced engineering techniques.
