Job summary

RG&T Solutions is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer in Houston to lead structural design and analysis for high-voltage substations, ensuring safety, reliability, and code compliance. You will develop calculations, drawings, and specifications while guiding a team of engineers across multidisciplinary projects.

You will collaborate with electrical and civil teams, review junior engineers’ work, and contribute to proposals and engineering estimates.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in structural design for substations, steel structures, and foundations.
Proficiency in calculations, documentation, and drawing/specification development.
Knowledge of applicable codes and engineering compliance requirements.
Ability to collaborate cross-discipline and communicate effectively.
Leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

Develop structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for substation projects.
Conduct structural analysis and engineering evaluations supporting design decisions.
Review and guide junior engineers’ work to maintain technical quality.
Coordinate with electrical, civil, and project management teams to integrate requirements.
Support proposal efforts and contribute to engineering estimates and technical content.
Mentor staff and help advance engineering standards, tools, and best practices.
