Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in New Albany, OH seeks entry- to mid-level engineers to support protection and control for high-voltage substations. You will review P&C scopes, estimates and designs, and assist in scheduling, costs, installation, and commissioning efforts.

The role offers a pathway from Engineer Assc to Sr levels with ABET-accredited degree requirements and PE licensure encouraged. On-site opportunity with opportunities for growth within transmission projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam encouraged and preferred for future PE licensure.
Engineer levels require increasing education/experience; PE license encouraged for Senior.

Responsibilities

Review relay protection and control activities for substation projects (4kV–765kV).
Review P&C scopes and cost estimates for substation projects.
Prepare/review P&C engineering and designs for substations.
Participate in project scheduling, resource planning and cost control.
Provide engineering support for installation, commissioning, checkout and troubleshooting.
Review and approve P&C work of other team members.
Model transmission impedances and perform short circuit fault studies.
Perform area protection studies and recommend settings.
Review and comment on transmission planning proposals.
