Job summary
eZone Staffing, LLC is seeking a qualified Protection & Control Engineer for onsite substation projects in the United States. You will lead from start to finish, interfacing with utility customers and their vendors.
The role requires at least a BS/AS degree in electrical engineering and 7+ years in Transmission Protection & Control, with experience on 69kV equipment. You must be able to travel for several weeks to months as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate of Science in Electro-Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited school.
- 7+ years of utility Transmission Protection and Control experience.
- Experience on 69kV equipment and higher.
- Knowledge of zones of protection.
- Proven safe electrical troubleshooting skills with test equipment.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting abilities.
- Willingness to travel and work at substation sites for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Fully responsible and onsite at substation projects from start to finish.
- Interface with customers and vendors and manage relationships.
- Read control prints, wiring diagrams, and relaying schematics.
- Perform field testing on substation equipment safely and accurately.
- Develop isolation plans for protection and control equipment.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning of relays and communication gear.
- Oversee energization plans and plan SCADA checkouts.
