Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer III to lead design of high-voltage substations. You will serve as SME, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical excellence from concept through construction while upholding safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include designing protection and control systems, relay schemes, and equipment specifications; coordinating with clients and cross-functional teams; and delivering high-quality engineering packages through QA/QC reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• 4–7 years of Substation Protection & Control design experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control systems per codes and client standards.
• Develop relay protection schemes and control philosophies.
• Prepare equipment specs, scope, and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead QA/QC of design packages.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
