Job summary

HDR, an employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Substation Project Manager in Irvine, CA to lead substation engineering projects from scope through closeout. You will manage schedules, budgets and teams, collaborate with design staff, and ensure quality across the project life cycle.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical preferred), PE license, 7+ years in related roles, and at least 2 years of project management experience; MS Office/Project proficiency and strong

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
7 years related experience.
Minimum 2 years project management experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
MS Office and MS Project experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

Managing and leading projects and programs throughout the life cycle.
Directing, mentoring, training, and supervising project engineers and staff.
Overseeing workload, schedule, quality, utilization, morale and performance.
Overseeing non-engineering components: public engagement, permitting, right of way, and construction management.
Leading QA/QC per HDR's Quality Management Systems.
Supporting client management and business development in the region.
Coordinating with leadership and Talent Acquisition to hire for the program.
Ability to work across multiple offices to execute projects.
Represent HDR in marketing and proposal development.
