Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Project Engineer – Substation to lead high voltage substation design efforts and oversee the design team across EPC proposals. The role reports to a Supervising Engineer or Engineering Manager and collaborates with engineers, designers, and drafters on multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in the electric utility industry, a P.E. license, and deep knowledge of substation components, protections, and control schematics.

Qualifications

• P.E. license required.
• 5+ years’ experience in electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substations.
• Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, construction support, and closeout.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations.
• Ensure projects are on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Review projects to verify compliance with NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards and environmental/safety requirements.
• Oversee quality control procedures and prepare detailed project documentation.
