Job summary

Quanta Services is seeking a Project Engineer - Substation to lead high voltage substation design and provide engineering support for EPC proposals. You will oversee a design team, ensure compliance with industry standards, and coordinate with the project team to deliver high-quality substations.

The role requires a PE license, ABET accreditation, and at least 5 years in the electric utility industry. Travel to project sites is expected, and collaboration with engineers, drafters, and suppliers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• P.E. license is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation projects.
• Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering; knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, construction support, and closeout.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations.
• Ensure projects are on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Develop protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Travel to project sites up to 10–25% as required.
