Job summary

ICO, Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support electrical substation projects for utility clients. You will source, negotiate, and purchase high-voltage equipment for transmission and distribution, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

The role requires strong vendor management, risk mitigation, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining schedule, cost, and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; 2–3 years in purchasing required.
• 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in substation/utility projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical equipment and procurement processes.
• Experience with international suppliers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for substation projects including sourcing and PO issuance.
• Coordinate with engineering and construction teams.
• Negotiate terms and manage supplier relationships.
• Track orders, lead times, and deliveries to sites.
• Develop procurement strategies aligned with schedules and budgets.
• Evaluate supplier performance and risk management.
