Job summary

Sargent Lundy is seeking a Substation Physical Project Designer based in Reading, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will work in a hybrid schedule, primarily in-office 3 days per week. Responsibilities include preparing detailed substation drawings and conducting technical reviews.

Essential qualifications include an Associates Degree in Drafting and substantial experience in substation design. Employees are offered generous benefits, including health plans, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 15 or more years of substation physical design experience.
• Familiar with ground-based Lidar, converting point cloud information to vector.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and detailed review of substation drawings.
• Technical review of project team's comments on vendor design deliverables.
• Conduct field walkdowns and gather data at client facilities.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD and/or MicroStation)

Ability to visualize Equipment Details, Phase to Ground and Phase to Phase Clearances

Ability to multi-task from project to project

Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of a computer

Education

Associates Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience
