Westwood Professional Services is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer - P&C in New York to oversee protection & control on high‑voltage projects. The role includes engineering leadership, EOR duties, and coordination across disciplines to ensure compliant, high‑quality deliverables.

You will mentor staff, participate in client strategy discussions, and shape study methodologies while ensuring alignment with contracts and reliability standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 6+ years in substation protection and control engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee protection & control scope across multiple projects with technical ownership.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) performing final reviews and PE stamping of deliverables.
• Guide engineers and analysts, ensuring standards and study methodologies are consistently applied.
• Coordinate across disciplines to integrate protection with control systems and field implementation.
• Lead client communications and technical strategy, including protection philosophy discussions and design reviews.
• Identify scope gaps and drive resolution with stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals, estimates, and change orders for protection studies and settings development.
• Monitor project performance and deliverables quality.
