Job summary

The Perry Group, Ltd., a CDM Smith company, seeks an experienced design-build/EPC Project Manager with substations expertise to lead complex projects in the United States. The role focuses on defining scope, schedules, budgets, client invoicing, and risk management while coordinating with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders.

A Bachelor's degree and 13+ years of relevant experience are required, with PMP/ CCM/ DBIA certification expected within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Ability to interact with varying levels of staff, as well as vendors/subcontractors.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Superior organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
• Knowledge of building materials and construction methods; knowledge of procedures for production of construction documents.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Creates project definitions, schedules, budgets and objectives for projects.
• Prepares detailed statements of work with budgets and gains concurrence and approval from stakeholders.
• Manages project costs and profitability.
• Prepares client billings and ensures timely payment; reviews subcontractor invoices.
• Monitors project status, risks and changes; escalates as needed.
• Coordinates and communicates deadlines, assignments and objectives to the project team.
• Prepares overall project schedule, timeline and in-house construction budgets by group.
• Facilitates meetings with internal and external stakeholders and mentors junior PMs.
• Oversees submittals to agencies and ensures deliverables are met.
• Reviews and approves design changes and contract modifications.
