Job summary

Pike Engineering in Marietta, GA is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer to lead the electrical design, analysis, and supervision of a transmission substation engineering and design team. You will deliver safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services, mentor junior engineers, and support proposals and project costs.

Responsibilities include leading complex design tasks for 500kV to substation projects, overseeing budgets and schedules, visiting sites, and ensuring adherence

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience as a practicing engineer.
• ABET/EAC accredited bachelor’s degree or NCEES-evaluated equivalent; or an advanced degree from ABET-accredited programs.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Responsibilities

• Lead discipline work for projects and manage schedules.
• Provide supervision to engineers and designers, mentoring junior staff.
• Develop processes for substation physical design scopes, estimates, and budgets.
• Support proposal development and project cost estimating.
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams and clients.
• Visit sites to advise on physical engineering issues during construction.
• Check designs for accuracy and adherence to customer standards.
