Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Physical Engineer to drive high-impact substation physical design projects from concept to completion. You will develop safe, reliable layouts, review essential drawings, and ensure materials align with project requirements while collaborating with clients and internal teams to meet schedules.

The role requires a PE license, 8+ years of substation design experience, and willingness to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• PE license required or eligible (Professional Engineer).
• PMP certification or project management experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the delivery of substation physical design projects, ensuring technical excellence and on-time performance.
• Partner with internal engineering groups and external clients to understand needs, align expectations, and deliver solutions that meet standards.
• Perform QA/QC reviews on substation physical design packages for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Read, design, and review substation drawings (one-line, three-line, plan-and-section, grounding layouts, foundations).
• Create and verify bills of materials for substation physical components matching project requirements.
• Conduct site visits to gather data and support project execution.
