Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is seeking a Subrogation Attorney to join the Claims Counsel team, with a hybrid schedule in Denver, Anaheim or New York City. You will provide legal representation for subrogation interests before courts, supervise pre-suit and litigated matters, and manage cases from investigation through trial or appeal.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years of subrogation litigation experience, first/second chair background, strong research and deposition skills, and a JD.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience litigating property and/or maritime subrogation claims.
• First or second chair experience.
• Substantial experience with research, discovery depositions, mediations and trial preparation.
• JD degree required.

Responsibilities

• Handle a consistent workload of subrogation files across property, maritime, financial and cyber matters.
• Work with Lead Attorney on pre-suit and litigated files including coordinating experts and initiating litigation.
• Conduct all relevant legal actions to protect subrogation and recovery interests.
• Obtain authority to negotiate settlements with defense counsel.
• Interface with Subrogation Claims department as cases develop.
• Review large loss cases with Lead Attorney and schedule conferences.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal environments.
• Direct paralegals and support staff in document production and file management.
