Job summary

CS Erickson is seeking a Lead Cabling Technician to own field installs and lead crews across multiple project sites, with a travel-intensive schedule. This role suits someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering high-quality structured cabling work.

You will plan, execute, terminate, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber, copper, and coax systems while coordinating with project managers and engineers. Safety, documentation, and leadership are essential to success.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in structured cabling or related field.
• Experience leading crews or serving as senior/lead technician.
• Strong knowledge of fiber optics and copper cabling systems.
• Familiar with ANSI/TIA and ISO industry standards.
• Hands-on with fusion splicers, testers, and termination kits.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of cabling technicians in the field.
• Plan and execute structured cabling installations (fiber, copper, coax).
• Perform terminations, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct site walks and assess project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field leadership.
• Ensure all work meets safety standards, codes, and quality expectations.
• Maintain accurate documentation (as-builts, test results, progress updates).
• Manage tools, materials, and inventory on-site.
