Job summary

MSA Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer – Structural to lead planning and design of building structures for municipalities and infrastructure clients. Licensed PE/SE in Illinois or pursuing SE is preferred; opportunity to work from Iowa or Illinois offices.

You will manage complex design tasks from concept through construction, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to proposals while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Hybrid/remote options exist where possible.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Structural or related Engineering
• 4+ years post-graduate experience (8+ with a Master’s)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) preferred or pursuing
• Expertise in structural engineering principles and building design standards
• Advanced proficiency with Revit, structural modeling/analysis software, and MS Office
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute structural design with autonomy and technical judgment
• Perform and validate engineering calculations and structural analyses
• Develop detailed construction documents, specifications, and technical reports
• Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure regulatory compliance
• Provide field oversight during investigations and construction, resolving complex issues in real time
