Job summary

MSA Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer - Structural to lead planning and design of building structures for municipalities and infrastructure clients.

This role emphasizes projects that support resilient communities and may require licensure as PE/SE in Illinois or pursuit of SE. The position is based out of any of our Iowa or Illinois offices, offering hybrid and remote options where possible, and a supportive, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• ,Bachelor’s degree in Structural or related Engineering field (ABET-accredited).
• PE license required; SE preferred or pursuing.
• Experience with structural engineering principles and building design standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute structural design with autonomy and technical judgment.
• Perform and validate engineering calculations and structural analyses.
• Develop detailed construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
• Perform QA/QC reviews and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide field oversight during investigations and construction, resolving complex issues in real time.
