Job summary

You will plan and assign work, read orders and blueprints, calculate material needs, and mentor team members, ensuring on-time delivery of coated components while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-4 years of related experience.
• Fabrication shop experience preferred.
• Knowledge of painting materials and how to mix/apply.
• Experience with painting techniques and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain consistent work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of assigned team employees.
• Address minor discipline problems with team members; refer serious cases to supervisor.
• Assist with planning and training of new team members with trainer support.
• Apply paint, stains, enamels, and coatings to metal/steel surfaces.
• Prepare surfaces by filling cracks and joints and smoothing with tools.
• Apply primers or seals to prepare new surfaces.
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking to protect areas.
• Read work orders and blueprints to determine requirements.
• Calculate material quantities and estimate costs based on measurements.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
