Job summary

Midsouth Steel is seeking an experienced Lead Painter to oversee the final stages of the painting process and ensure painted structural steel components meet company quality standards. This role coordinates unloading of painted materials, conducts inspections, and maintains accurate records to support on-time production.

The Lead Painter acts as a liaison among paint, production, logistics and management to ensure safe, efficient workflows and compliance with safety and AISC requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting or manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of paint application standards and quality inspection.
• Familiarity with AISC quality documentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee unloading of finished parts from paint booths and ensure schedules are met.
• Perform visual inspections for paint defects and verify quality.
• Maintain logs and paperwork for finished goods and AISC compliance.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and management for timely delivery.
• Identify improvements and support lean manufacturing and safety initiatives.
