Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. in Poway, CA, seeks a Strength Manager to lead the Airframe Integrity Group’s engineering efforts.

You will plan, manage, and execute technical work in stress, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses, and approve material design values and repairs in support of MRB actions and field actions. You will supervise projects from concept through completion, coordinate with program managers and executives, and ensure compliance with DoD and other standards

Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in engineering or a related field with nine+ years of progressively complex engineering experience.
Demonstrates knowledge in applying engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as project management and leadership skills.
Must possess the ability to resolve management and technical problems.
Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required for effective interface across levels.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering project(s) from inception through completion, ensuring quality, schedule, and financial objectives.
Develop metallic and composite structural analysis techniques and validate testing programs.
Plan, direct, coordinate and execute large component/full-scale static and fatigue tests for metallic and composite structures.
Coordinate design concepts and engineering efforts for product research, development, testing and integration.
Ensure technical leadership and excellence by developing and retaining required talent.
