Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Portland, OR, to lead structural design for water and wastewater facilities. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, guiding analyses, drawings, and specifications while mentoring others. A PE license and SE accreditation are required or obtainable within a year.

You’ll contribute to seismic and liquid-containing designs, develop standards, and collaborate with clients, regulators, and project teams in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of structural engineering experience, ideally within water or heavy civil infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license; Oregon preferred; SE license required (or obtainable within 1 year).
• Experience designing seismic and liquid-containing structures.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D modeling.

Responsibilities

• Serve as structural design lead on water and wastewater facilities.
• Perform and oversee conceptual through detailed structural design, including calculations and drawings.
• Design reinforced concrete, masonry, and structural steel systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated solutions.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and develop standards and tools.
• Represent Stantec with clients, partners, and regulators.
