Job summary

EDG Inc. in Houston seeks a Sr. Structural Engineer to design steel and concrete structures and pipelines for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities. You will conduct analyses, prepare designs and manage project documentation from concept through startup.

The role requires a BS in Structural or Civil Engineering, ten years of oil & gas experience, and proficiency with SACS/STAAD. P.E. designation is strongly preferred. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• P.E. designation strongly preferred.
• Ten years of experience in design of oil and gas facilities.
• Experience in design of onshore foundations.
• Knowledge of AISC, ACI and ASCE design guidelines.
• Proficiency with structural software such as SACS and STAAD.
• Strong skills in MathCAD, MS Excel and MS Word.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual, preliminary and detailed structural design for onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities.
• Perform structural analysis using the SACS suite (in-place, loadout, transport, installation, fatigue, non-linear).
• Reference current industry codes and standards (AISC, ASCE, API, AWS, ISO).
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and drafters to complete tasks.
• Develop project calculations and documentation using Mathcad, Word and Excel.
• Prepare regulatory submittals (e.g., BSEE, USCG, ABS).
• Lead structural engineering tasks on multi-discipline projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage resources and schedules.
