Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a highly experienced Structural Lead in Texas. The role focuses on heavy industrial and oil & gas facilities, performing analyses, designing steel frames, and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. Hybrid work requires in-office presence three days per week.

The position demands a PE license, 5+ years in related projects, and ability to guide junior engineers while interfacing with clients and vendors during design reviews and site visits.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering program with structural emphasis
• PE license is required
• 5+ years in heavy industrial plant or oil & gas structures
• Experience writing structural calculations and specifications
• Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318
• Proficient with MS Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Lead junior engineers and coordinate detailed design phases for all structural engineering work
• Perform structural analyses including wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization
• Develop integrated structural designs and prepare calculations and specifications
• Review others' work and coordinate with clients, PMs, and suppliers
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and site verification
