Job summary

SpaceXSI in Memphis is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to design and deliver resilient structural systems for hyperscale AI compute facilities. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure performance under high-density loads, seismic events, and rapid deployment timelines.

The role partners with mechanical, electrical, civil, and construction teams, mentors junior staff, and requires travel to project sites. A PE license and 10+ years in structural engineering are highly preferred.

Qualifications

:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or structural engineering (required)

10+ years of professional experience in structural engineering for building projects (highly preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
Master's degree in structural engineering (preferred)
Structural Engineer (SE) license (preferred)

Responsibilities

Lead structural design and analysis for large-scale data center facilities from concept through construction administration
Develop and review structural models, calculations, drawings and specifications using Tekla, ETABS, RISA, STAAD
Coordinate multidisciplinary coordination with MEP, cooling, raised floors, and modular components
Perform seismic analysis and vibration isolation design for high-density equipment
Manage schedules, budgets, submittals, RFIs; conduct site visits and inspections
Mentor junior engineers and designers for on-time, high-quality delivery
Identify risks and drive cost optimization while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance
Stay updated on modular and precast construction techniques and data center innovations
Provide leadership updates to senior management via KPIs and reports
Lead multidisciplinary coordination to ensure uptime and seismic resilience
