Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team in Salt Lake City, UT. The role focuses on high-level structural design, due diligence, remediation, and construction across multiple sectors, providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.

The candidate will oversee projects through inception to completion, ensure compliance with codes, and deliver high-quality, data-driven documentation and analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Proficient with structural engineering principles and design.
• Knowledge of structural planning, design, and construction management.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply high-level structural engineering techniques across project phases from concept to operation.
• Conduct site investigations and assess conformance with codes and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates with cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Oversee cross-functional teams and manage budgets, hours, and resources.
• Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients.
