Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Arlington, VA, seeks an experienced structural engineer to join our employee‑owned team. You will review documents, develop structural concepts, and coordinate the work of the structural design group through design development and contract documents.

You will lead meetings for code compliance, partner with other disciplines, and ensure delivery of documents on schedule at project sites. Required: a Civil/Structural bachelor's degree and a PE license; proficiency with AutoCAD, RAM,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required or recognized.
Experience as a structural engineer in an engineering firm.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, STAAD, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar.

Responsibilities

Review structural documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and sizes, and complete calculations.
Coordinate the structural design team through design development and contract document phases.
Coordinate with governing agencies for code compliance and conduct reviews.
Lead project site sessions with PM and other disciplines to develop design documents.
Ensure workload is coordinated through development and construction document phases to meet schedule.
Incorporate changes from addenda, RFIs, change orders into project documents.
Perform other duties as needed.
