Job summary

HDR in Phoenix is seeking a Structural Engineer to review structural documents, coordinate the structural design team through design development and contract documents, and ensure code compliance with governing agencies.

The role requires a civil/structural engineering background, PE license, and experience with architectural/engineering firms. You will collaborate with Project Manager and other disciplines on site and in development phases, delivering documents on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• PE license recognized by the licensing board for the position location.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Active participant in an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with other disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications, select procedures and sizes, and perform calculations.
• Coordinate the structural design team through design development and contract document phases.
• Meet with governing agencies for code compliance.
• Lead design development and document sessions on site with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
• Coordinate workload through design development and CD phases to meet schedules.
• Coordinate with affected disciplines and incorporate changes into project documents.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering

BS degree in Architectural Engineering; Structural emphasis
