Job summary

HDR is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Building Structural team in Texas. You will contribute to design and analysis of large-scale facilities, leveraging Revit for modeling and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license, have hands-on structural engineering experience, and are prepared to work in a collaborative, employee-owned culture focused on delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required or eligible.
Previous structural engineering experience at an AE/engineering firm.

Responsibilities

Model building gravity and lateral systems in structural analysis.
Model building elements in Revit.
Design engineering systems for large complex buildings in Health, Civic, Education, or Science/Technology sectors.
Review drawings for conflicts and coordinate with other disciplines.
Mentor junior staff on documents, calculations, and code interpretations.
Develop drawings, write structural specs, select procedures and materials.
Communicate effectively with the team.
Support QA/QC reviews and resolve issues.
Respond to RFIs, change proposals, shop drawings, and change orders during construction.
