Job summary

HDR is hiring a Structural Engineer to join our employee-owned culture in Arlington. You will review documents, specify materials, and perform calculations, guiding the design team through development and contract document phases.

You will coordinate with agencies, manage workloads, and ensure documents meet schedule. A PE license and 6+ years of experience are preferred; U.S. citizenship is required for client contract compliance.

Qualifications

• PE or professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board.
• Minimum 6 years of structural engineering experience.
• US citizenship is required due to client requirements.
• Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review structural documents for conflicts with all disciplines.
• Write and edit structural specifications and calculations.
• Coordinate the structural design team through design development and CD phases.
• Coordinate with agencies for code compliance and reviews.
• Conduct design development and CD work sessions at project sites.
• Manage workload through development and construction document phases.
• Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, change orders, and incorporate changes.
• Perform other duties as needed.
